MARECHIARO – Navy Italian Cashwool® Cardigan

MARECHIARO, a year of experimentation expressed through texture.

The idea behind MARECHIARO began with our iconic summer crochet polo and a long-held ambition: to recreate its distinctive stitch in a wool garment for winter. Almost a year of sampling and adjustments led to a closely knitted construction that captures the original pattern’s character with a substantial, compact feel.

Knitted in Italy using 100% Cashwool® wool by Zegna Baruffa, MARECHIARO combines the softness of the yarn with a densely worked 8-gauge stitch. The textured surface extends across the body and sleeves, giving the cardigan depth and a reassuring sense of body.

The polo collar and full button fastening introduce a relaxed, vintage-inspired elegance. A slightly cropped length keeps the proportions neat and makes the cardigan easy to wear beneath a tailored jacket. Ribbed cuffs and hem provide a clean finish.

In Navy, the deep shade gives the intricate knit a discreet presence. Wear it with grey flannel trousers for a sartorial combination, or with ecru denim to emphasize the texture through contrast. A distinctive expression of NR NAPOLI’s Funky Elegance, developed with patience and attention to the stitch.

Each garment is accompanied by its own Cashwool® yarn certificate, identifying the Zegna Baruffa yarn used in its construction.
